Game Overview
Released simultaneously with Pokemon - Sapphire, Pokemon - Ruby for Game Boy Advance is yet another in this popular pocket monster series. The action in this game very closely follows previous Pokemon gameplay, however, the frequency of certain monsters as well as environments and battle play differ quite a bit. In both the Sapphire and Ruby versions of this edition, action unfolds across a chain of islands with varied climates and terrain called Hoenn. There are more than 15 cities for players to explore, each one filled with its own unique climate, environment and battle structure. Gamers can carry up to six Pokemon at one time after catching them in the wild. Over a 100 new pocket monster Pokemon have been added to this version and the little monsters can now be catalogued in an upgraded version of the Pokedex. Unfortunately, players are not able to transfer any of their existing Pokemon from earlier series titles from Game Boy or Game Boy Color.
